Yogyakarta, 2024 – The Directorate of Research and Community Service at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) organized a workshop on strengthening online resilience for students at SMP Negeri 7 Yogyakarta. The workshop was funded through the Matching Fund Program under the Community Problem-Solving Scheme and led by Prof. Dr. Siti Irene Astuti Dwiningrum, M.Si., together with team members Dr. Ariefa Efianingrum, M.Si., Dr. Pratiwi Wahyu Widiarti, M.Si., and Muslikhin, Ph.D. The workshop was supported by facilitators Nopita Sitompul, M.Pd., and Anindita A., along with university students who assisted participants in using playing cards and interactive animations as learning media. The workshop was held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, in the courtyard of the mosque at SMP Negeri 7 Yogyakarta. The activity was attended by seventh- and eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 7 Yogyakarta.

The workshop began with a presentation on resilience delivered by Prof. Dr. Siti Irene Astuti Dwiningrum, M.Si. During her presentation, she emphasized that resilience is an essential quality for teachers in delivering learning materials at school. She introduced an educational resource entitled "Kelas Khusus Harapan" (Special Class of Hope), an interactive animation depicting the struggles of Ms. Nita, a contract teacher who guides ten students facing various behavioral and personal challenges. Through her dedication, students who were initially difficult to manage eventually developed into high-achieving and inspiring individuals.

Strengthening resilience is expected to enhance students' motivation and perseverance in facing various learning challenges at school. Educational innovations incorporating diverse learning media can be utilized to strengthen students' online literacy resilience. The use of varied instructional methods serves as an important foundation for motivating teachers to design learning activities that foster students' literacy resilience. Through this workshop, teachers were expected to develop greater awareness of the importance of integrating culturally based approaches into classroom instruction to strengthen online resilience and promote more creative and effective teaching and learning.
