Yogyakarta, 2024 – The Directorate of Research and Community Service of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta conducted a workshop on strengthening online resilience for students of SMP Stella Duce 2 Yogyakarta through the Matching Fund Program under the Community Problem-Solving scheme, led by Prof. Dr. Siti Irene Astuti Dwiningrum, M.Si., with team members Dr. Ariefa Efianingrum, M.Si., Dr. Pratiwi Wahyu Widiarti, M.Si., Muslikhin, Ph.D., and supported by lecturer Evi Rovikoh Indah Saputri, M.Pd. The workshop was held on Friday, November 22, 2024, at SMP Stella Duce 2 Yogyakarta and was attended by 7th-grade students.

The program included a presentation on resilience delivered by Prof. Dr. Siti Irene Astuti Dwiningrum, M.Si. In her presentation, she used the instructional book Panduan Perjalanan Sinta, which presents the challenges experienced by Sinta as a student in a school setting. Students were encouraged to actively participate in helping solve the problems faced by Sinta, fostering engagement and critical thinking. Prof. Siti Irene Astuti Dwiningrum also emphasized that resilience is essential for both teachers and students—teachers need resilience to effectively deliver learning materials, while students need resilience to develop perseverance in their learning process. Strengthening resilience is also expected to help address literacy challenges among students of SMP Stella Duce 2 Yogyakarta and better prepare them to face academic challenges.

Innovative learning approaches that utilize diverse instructional media can also contribute to strengthening online resilience. The diversity of learning methods serves as an important foundation for teachers to design more engaging and varied instructional strategies to enhance students’ literacy resilience. Through this workshop, it is expected that teachers will become more aware of the importance of applying diverse approaches to strengthen online resilience, resulting in more effective and engaging learning experiences.
