Strengthening Resilience to Build National Character among Teachers in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Riyadh, 2022 – The Directorate of Research and Community Service of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta conducted a resilience strengthening workshop to build national character as part of an International Collaborative Research project titled Developing Android-based School Resilience: A Comparative Study of High Schools in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Saudi Arabia, led by Prof. Dr. Siti Irene Astuti Dwiningrum, M.Si., with team members Prof. Dr. Achmad Dardiri, M.Hum., and Evi Rovikoh Indah Saputri, M.Pd. The activity was held on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Sekolah Indonesia Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with teachers participating as the primary participants.

This initiative represents an important effort by Prof. Dr. Siti Irene Astuti Dwiningrum, M.Si., to enhance teachers’ capacity to address challenges and changes in the era of globalization and the Fourth Industrial Revolution. By strengthening resilience to build national character, teachers are expected to contribute positively to the learning environment. The training included discussions and experience-sharing sessions among teachers to build strong support networks and collaboration, applying the “River of Life” method. This mentoring and training provided meaningful experiences for participants, helping them become more prepared and confident in carrying out their roles as educators.
