Brainstorming and Mentoring for STEM POWER

Semarang, 2024 – The Directorate of Research and Community Service of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta conducted a workshop on Brainstorming and Mentoring for STEM POWER, led by Prof. Dr. Antuni Wiyarsi, M.Sc., with Prof. Dr. Siti Irene Astuti Dwiningrum, M.Si., as a team member, in collaboration with the British Council. The program was intended for science teachers and lecturers in Semarang and was held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at the Auditorium of IAIN Semarang.

As a sociology expert from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, Prof. Dr. Siti Irene Astuti Dwiningrum, M.Si., also focuses on mentoring and developing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) skills among science teachers and lecturers. During the workshop, Prof. Dr. Siti Irene Astuti Dwiningrum, M.Si., engaged participants in brainstorming sessions and interactive discussions. The program began with an introduction to the workshop objectives and agenda, followed by a presentation on the fundamental concepts of STEM and innovative teaching methods. Participants then took part in brainstorming sessions to discuss challenges and solutions in science education. The workshop also included technical mentoring on the use of emerging technologies, the development of soft skills such as leadership and classroom management, and case study analysis. The entire program was designed to provide guidance and support for science teachers and lecturers, enabling them to become more motivated and confident in their teaching and to improve the quality of science education in Indonesia.

The workshop aimed to promote innovative and effective teaching methods while enhancing both the technical and soft skills of educators. Through this mentoring, teachers and lecturers are expected to become more motivated and confident in their teaching, ultimately contributing to improved learning outcomes for their students.
