Yogyakarta, 2023 – The Directorate of Research and Community Service of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta conducted a workshop on strengthening educational resilience in mitigation through independently funded Community Service, led by Prof. Dr. Siti Irene Astuti Dwiningrum, M.Si., with team member Siti Luzviminda Harum Pratiwi Setyawan, M.T., and supported by facilitators Nopita Sitompul, M.Pd., and Anindita A. The activity was held on December 14, 2023, at TK Masjid Syuhada Yogyakarta, focusing on students from the Ibrahim, Idris, Yusuf, and Yunus classes.

The program aimed to prepare early childhood students to face various challenges and disasters, such as earthquakes, which frequently occur in the Yogyakarta region. Through a comprehensive and interactive approach, the program included a series of activities designed to build resilience from an early age. One of the main activities involved training students from the Ibrahim, Idris, Yusuf, and Yunus classes using videos related to earthquake disaster mitigation, including evacuation simulations and the use of safety equipment. In addition, Prof. Dr. Siti Irene Astuti Dwiningrum, M.Si., conducted educational sessions in the classroom, where children were taught through interactive videos and storytelling that introduced the steps to take during a disaster.

Through this approach, TK Masjid Syuhada serves not only as a place of learning but also as a center for community empowerment prepared to respond to natural challenges. This program reflects Prof. Dr. Siti Irene Astuti Dwiningrum’s commitment to improving educational quality and ensuring the safety and preparedness of Indonesia’s younger generation.
