Strengthening Resilience for STEM Lecturers and Students in Yogyakarta, 2024

Sleman, 2024 – The Directorate of Research and Community Service of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta conducted a resilience strengthening workshop on literacy and numeracy through brainstorming activities and STEM Power mentoring, led by Prof. Dr. Antuni Wiyarsi, M.Sc., with Prof. Dr. Siti Irene Astuti Dwiningrum, M.Si., serving as the main speaker. The activity was held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, in Conference Room 3 of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, and involved lecturers and students from the faculty.
The program was designed to provide participants with practical tools and strategies to help them address academic and professional challenges more effectively. It included a brainstorming workshop that enabled lecturers and students to collaborate in developing innovative ideas. In addition, interactive sessions focused on strengthening resilience skills, such as stress management, adaptability to change, and effective problem-solving. This initiative not only enriched participants’ knowledge but also equipped them with the capacity to remain resilient amid the evolving demands of the professional and academic environment.
Through resilience strengthening activities involving brainstorming and STEM mentoring, lecturers and students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, guided by Prof. Dr. Siti Irene Astuti Dwiningrum, M.Si., applied the “River of Life” method. This method helped participants reflect on their life experiences and identify their strengths and internal resources to better prepare for future challenges.
