Strengthening Family Resilience for Mosque Children

Sleman, 2023 – The Directorate of Research and Community Service of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta conducted a workshop on strengthening family resilience through Community Service funding under the Community Partnership Empowerment scheme, led by Prof. Dr. Siti Irene Astuti Dwiningrum, M.Si., with team members Dr. Rukiyati, M.Hum., and Dr. Ariefa Efianingrum, M.Si. The activity was held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, in the auditorium of Al Huda Mosque, Mantrijeron, Yogyakarta, involving students of TPA Al Huda as participants in the family resilience strengthening program.

Prof. Dr. Siti Irene Astuti Dwiningrum, M.Si., explained to the students that strengthening family resilience through audiovisual media can enhance their understanding of the role of the family as a place to express love and affection, provide safety and protection, and serve as a support system in both joyful moments and challenging situations, such as economic difficulties or unfavorable social conditions. Having a strong sense of togetherness with family members is essential in strengthening emotional and spiritual bonds, as well as communication, which contributes to building positive family relationships.

It is evident that teaching family resilience to children is essential and requires intentional development. Providing support and instilling positive values can help children build mental resilience, enabling them to navigate life’s challenges more effectively and develop a stronger foundation for their future.
