Sleman, 2023 – The Directorate of Research and Community Service of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta conducted a workshop on strengthening family resilience through Community Service funding under the Community Partnership Empowerment scheme, led by Prof. Dr. Siti Irene Astuti Dwiningrum, M.Si., with team members Dr. Rukiyati, M.Hum., and Dr. Ariefa Efianingrum, M.Si. The activity was held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, in the Leadership Meeting Room of the DRPM, Imam Barnadib Building, 5th Floor, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, and was attended by youth members of Al Huda Harnas Mosque, Mantrijeron, Yogyakarta.

The program began with a presentation by Prof. Dr. Siti Irene Astuti Dwiningrum, M.Si., who explained the importance of family resilience for the participants’ future lives. The session continued with the practical application of the “River of Life” method, which is designed to explore individual strengths and weaknesses through experiential learning and significance learning approaches. The purpose of the River of Life method is to enable individuals to overcome their weaknesses and develop their potential to become more resilient individuals. This method aligns with the widely promoted concept of family resilience, which aims to empower youth who grow up in families facing various challenges to overcome negative stigma about their family background and maximize their potential to move forward and build a better future.
